Lianor de Matos
Lianor is my persona in the Society for Creative Anachronism, a group that strives to recreate the chivalry, art, and grandeur of the Medieval and Renaissance world. They encourage any and all historical pursuits, including martial arts, music, and cooking, just to name a few. Her local group is the Barony of Bhakail.
Lianor is proud to be a companion of the Order of the Troubadour in the SCA, an honored position. This website came about mainly as a way to catalog the songs and stories she has learned to perform in the society. Lianor's story is a simple one. She was born to a hidalgo, somewhere around 1495. Her father and brother left not long after to find their fortunes in the New World. Though they return now and then, Lianor and her mother were left mostly alone to run the family's estates, and to edge their way into the courts of the local duke. In the society, Lianor not only enjoys the music, dancing, and sewing encouraged for ladies of her rank back home, but also gets to take part in combat archery and goes to war with her barony every year.
